După cum știți, ultimele șase luni au fost cam diferite pentru mine. Nu am avut timp să mă dedic blogului, să vă povestesc prea multe. Am petrecut cinci luni perfecte în lumea Erasmus. Cinci luni în care am locuit și studiat în Zaragoza, Spania. Mi-am început povestea aici, urmând ca acum să continui să vă povestesc. Voi împărți partea asta în patru categorii, să le pot ordona mai bine.
As you may know, the past six months have been very different for me. I didn't have the time to post on the blog or to tell you too many things. I spent five perfect months in the Erasmus world. Five months during which I lived and studied in Zaragoza, Spain. I started telling my story here and now it's time to continue it. I will divide the next part into four categories so I can order them better.

Studiu / Studies;

Am dus la capăt o grămadă de proiecte video printre care un videoclip muzical și unul de artă videografică,
I was able to create, together with my colleagues, a few video projects, among which a music video and video art,

Distracții / Having fun;

Când vine vorba de distracţii mă mândresc cu ieşiri în Parque Grande, petreceri sau ieşiri la tapas.
When it comes to having fun I will just brag with outings in Parque Grande, parties or going out for tapas.

Aici eram la o petrecere cu tricouri albe, toată lumea a primit markere și-am început să ne scriem amintiri (chiar spre finalul șederii noastre în Zaragoza)

Here, we were at a white T-shirt party, everyone got sharpies and we started writing memories (towards the end of our stay in Zaragoza)

Aici, ne bucuram de un apus de soare incredibil de frumos în Parque Grande (tr. Parcul Mare), parc unde am văzut pentru prima dată papagalii liberi ce împânzesc Zaragoza.
Here, we were enjoying a beautiful sunset in Parque Grande (tr. The Big Park), where I first saw the parrots that go all around Zaragoza.

Seara, fie ieșeam la o plimbare, fie la Tapas (un fel de aperitive), fie la churros con chocolate. În poza de mai sus mă vedeți împingând globul pământesc în Plaza del Pilar, iar mai jos vedeți tapas de care ziceam și churros con chocolate, deși în poză se vede și o waffle.
In the evening we would either go for a walk, go for Tapas, or for churros con chocolate. In the picture above you can see me trying to push the world around in Plaza del Pilar, and below you can see the tapas and churros con chocolate I was talking about, although you can also see a waffle there.

Călătorii / Trips;

Am călătorit cât de mult mi-a permis bugetul, și-am vizitat pe rând Teruel, Castillo de Loarre, Barcelona, San Sebastian și San Jean de Luz (pe teritoriul Francez).
I traveled as much as my budget allowed me to and I visited in order Teruel, Castillo de Loarre, Barcelona, San Sebastian and San Jean de Luz (on French territory).

În Teruel am petrecut 8 martie și-am mâncat faimosul Jamon de Teruel şi am primit o floricică de hârtie şi ceva dulce pe stradă.
In Teruel we spent 8th of March and ate the famous Jamon de Teruel and also got a paper flower and something sweet on the street.

La Castillo de Loarre am avut parte de un peisaj incredibil, ce-ți tăia repirația, probabil și din cauza vântului care te lua din loc.

At Castillo de Loarre we had a breathtaking scenery, probably also because of the wind that left us breathless.

În Barcelona am avut parte de experiențe pe care nu le vom uita prea curând, experiențe ce implică o cameră foto scumpă și poliția, de ziua Cristinei. Noroc că s-a terminat cu bine!

In Barcelona, we experienced stuff we won't be able to forget too soon, stuff that involves an expensive camera and the police, on Cristina's birthday. Luckily, it ended well!

În San Sebastian, am vizitat acvariul, ne-am plimbat pe plajă și-am trecut în Franța la San Jean de Luz unde am mâncat crepes și am sărbătorit ziua Hildei pe plajă, în ploaie.

In San Sebastian we visited the aquarium, we walked on the beach and we passed into France, to San Jean de Luz where we ate crepes and celebrated Hilda's birthday on the beach, in the rain.

Viaţă / Life.

Nu mai am foarte multe de povestit aici, doar că m-am îndrăgostit de frozen yogurt,
I don't have a lot more to say here, just that I fell in love with frozen yogurt,

că am sărbătorit San Valero Rosconero și-am mâncat Roscon (ce seamănă teribil de bine cu o savarină la gust),

that I celebrated San Valero Rosconero and ate Roscon,

mi-am sărbătorit și ziua de naștere acolo, în urma căreia am făcut și un haul pe blog
I celebrated my birthday and posted a haul as a result of it.

Am sărbătorit și Paștele acolo, iar ei au o tradiție tare interesantă în Săptămâna Mare.
I also celebrated Easter there and they have a really interesting tradition on Holly Week.

și-am fost și la coridă, unde am plâns pentru tauri. Nu susțin luptele de coridă și sper să fie interzise cât de curând.

I've also gone to a corida, where I cried for the bulls. I don't support the coridas and I hope they are banned as soon as possible.

Part 1 - How I got there!

După cum știți, ultimele șase luni au fost cam diferite pentru mine. Nu am avut timp să mă dedic blogului, să vă povestesc prea multe. Am petrecut cinci luni perfecte în lumea Erasmus. Cinci luni în care am locuit și studiat în Zaragoza, Spania. Am vizitat locuri de care știe toată lumea (Barcelona) și locuri de care n-aș fi aflat în mod normal (San Sebastian și San Jean de Luz - sunt doua orasele de la granița Spaniei cu Franța. Unul e oraș spaniol, celălalt francez și sunt absolut superbe, având ieșire la Ocean). Am studiat așa cum n-aș fi făcut-o în țară și-am petrecut mai mult decât aș petrece eu în mod normal (care e aproape deloc). Acolo m-am transformat, însă nu doar pentru perioada cât am fost acolo, ci pentru totdeauna.
As you may know, the past six months have been very different for me. I didn't have the time to post on the blog or to tell you too many things. I spent five perfect months in the Erasmus world. Five months during which I lived and studied in Zaragoza, Spain. I visited places that everybody knows about (Barcelona) and places that I wouldn't have found out about normally (San Sebastian and San Jean de Luz - two little towns from the border between Spain and France. One of them is Spanish, the other one French and they are both gorgeous, having an opening towards the Atlantic Ocean). I studied like I wouldn't in Romania and I partied harder than I do normally (which is close to none). I transformed there, not just for those five months, but forever.

But let's start with the beginning:

Aplicând la o bursă Erasmus. / Applying for Erasmus.

Am aflat de la una dintre colegele mai apropiate faptul că se gândește să plece cu Erasmus. Eu antrenam gândul de câțiva ani, dar singură nu-mi făceam curajul să plec. Nici nu eram informată. Nici nu făceam nimic să mă informez. Nu mi-a trebuit mult însă, pentru că în momentul în care Cristina mi-a spus că pot aplica mai multe persoane pentru a merge în același loc și că dacă media le-o permite pot merge toți cei care au aplicat și au fost acceptați, mi-am luat inima-n dinți și am aplicat și eu. Și eu, și Cristina și Hilda. Trei mușchetărese. La interviu am cunoscut-o și pe Kinga, cea de-a patra mușchetară. Urma să locuim împreună și să fim prietene bune, dar noi nu știam asta încă.

Am dat interviul în spaniolă, după ce ne pregătiserăm de engleză. Se întâmplă că spaniolii nu prea știu engleză și ai noștrii profesori voiau să se asigure că ne vom descurca. Ne-am descurcat. Câteva zile mai târziu, eram anunțate că plecăm în Spania. Eram cu Cristina în Parcul Mare din Cluj și nu știam ce să credem. Cum să reacționăm? Simplu: umplându-ne capul de întrebări inutile. Oare mă voi descurca? Am dovedit că pot, dar vreau? Cum va fi fără toți cei la care țin? Mergem în Spania. Și-apoi m-a lovit: MERGEM ÎN SPANIA!

I found out from one of my closest colleagues that she was thinking of applying for Erasmus. I was entertaining the thought for years now, but I didn't have the guts to leave on my own. I wasn't informed nor was I doing anything to get informed. I didn't need much though, and when Cristina told me there were many positions available, I applied also. Me, Cristina & Hilda. The three musketeers. Later, during the interview we met Kinga, the fourth musketeer. We were about to live together and become good friends, we just didn't know it yet.

We took the interview in Spanish, after preparing it in English. It just so happens that Spanish people don't speak a lot of English, so our teachers wanted to make sure we were going to be OK. We were okay. A few days later, we were being told that we were accepted. I was with Cristina in Cluj's Central Park and we didn't know what to believe. How should we react? Simple: by filling our head with useless questions. Will I manage? I proved myself that I CAN, but do I want to? How will it be without everyone I care about? We're going to Spain. And the it hit me: WE'RE GOING TO SPAIN!

(după o luptă birocratică foarte lungă) Am ajuns în Spania. / (after a lot of bureaucracy) Arriving in Spain.

Țara noastră Erasmus. Radioul sună în spaniolă în mașina care ne duce spre pensiunea la care aveam să stăm în următoarele 4-5 zile. Eram trei fete înghesuite într-o cămăruță, cu visuri mari și fără prea multe cunoștiințe despre limba spaniolă. Da, știam spaniola telenovelelor la care ne-am uitat toate când eram copile, dar asta nu sună deloc la fel! Ăștia spun doar "vale" (tr. "bine") și "joder" (tr. "f**ui"). Mai folosesc și un „s” printre dinți, care-l pun cum au ei chef. Sau cel puțin așa ți se pare. Nu e chiar cum au chef, aveam să învăț asta la cursul de spaniolă.

După 4 nopți petrecute în pensiune, ne-am găsit viitoarea casă și ne-am mutat cu muuult entuziasm. Câteva probleme doar: nu aveam internet, dar mai important, nu aveam APĂ și nici ELECTRICITATE (proprietara nu dorea să aibă facturi pe numele ei, așa că trebuia să facem noi pe numele noastre toate contractele pentru utilități). Asta se întâmpla în luna ianuarie. Ne-am descurcat cum am putut și noroc că a doua zi după semnarea contractului am și avut parte de apă...rece evident. Că restul trebuia să treacă printr-un boiler electric. Următoarele nopți le-am petrecut înfofolite din cap până în picioare, cât mai apropiate una de alta, și luând cina doar la lumina lumânării (Cât de romantic!)

Our Erasmus country. The sounds of the radio were clearly Spanish in the car that drove us towards the hostel we were going to spend our next few days in. We were three girls crammed in a tiny room, with huge dreams and not too much knowledge in Spanish. Yes, we knew the Spanish from Mexican soap operas but this didn't sound anything like it! These guys only say "vale" (tr. "okay") and "joder" (tr. "F**k"). They also use a sound that is very similar to the English "th" but they use it whenever they want. Or so it seemed. They don't use it when they want, there's a rule, obviously. I was going to learn that in Spanish class later.
After spending four nights at the hostel, we finally found a home and moved in with loads of enthusiasm. Just a few problems: we didn't have internet, but more importantly, we didn't have WATER or ELECTRICITY (the landlord didn't want any contracts in her name and we had to do everything on our own). This happened in January. We did we could and luckily, the next day after signing the contract we had running water...cold, of course. For hot water needed to be heated in an electric boiler. We spent the next few nights all bundled up and as close to each other as possible, and also eating dinner by candlelight. (oh, how romantic!)
